So St called me today confirming he wanted me to work on the new church’s youth group web site. And he won’t let me do it for free as long as I attend there. I did our current youth group’s web site but that was free of charge….I also did my mom’s web site but that was free of charge as well. So I had no idea what a fair price of a custom web site was. I’ve asked some people in-the-know and it seems $600 seems to be a fair, minimum price for a package deal. I don’t feel comfortable charging the full price as I feel like it is a ministry thing for me as well as St is a friend and it’s for a church AND I don’t know Flash, which is what he wants to do. So I’m not sure what I’ll tell him. I’m excited to learn Flash, which I’ve been wanting to do for years now but never got a copy of the software and never really had any reason to learn it. So I’m thinking I’m going to be pretty busy in the near future and knowing St, we’ll be working on it heads down and until it’s EXACTLY how he wants it.

Are you familiar with the content management system, Joomla? I know a lot of churches use it for their sites. It’s free to download and they have tons of templates available online that you can customize. As for Flash, well, I don’t know nuttin’ bout flash.

No, don’t know Joomla. I will have to check it out. I know he’s pretty set on Flash though…
