Me, me, me – the result
First off, thank you to those that gave your opinion of my little poll. Hop onto my page to see the results…
Doesn’t look familiar right? I apologize I didn’t pick one that was voted on but it was not all for naught. I ended up picking one similar to #2. Both Scott and Heather really liked #1 but I didn’t like the way I was facing so I felt like the one I picked was sort of a compromise between the two. And hey, it takes about 30 seconds to change the picture so if I change my mind, I can.
What a day
I’m not sure I even have the energy to talk about everything I did today. It went something like…
- church
- lunch at MIL’s
- stopped at Scott’s uncle’s
- changed clothes at home
- went to Target
- went to CVS
- went to choir
- took the kids to Mom’s
- went to Dick’s and bought an elliptical (yay!)
- crashed at home
Good Points:
We got an elliptical on a great deal. Which means I can finally put to rest the whole conversation about the gym or buying an elliptical. Now I just have to use it.
Sunday School was good today (due to absentees).
CVS went well (more on that later).
Holiday Party #1 – Check
We had the first Christmas party tonight. It was for my church’s choir at our FLC/gym. It was low-key but actually a lot of fun. Our pastor’s daughter came up with a bunch of games for us to do and while I grimaced at the thought of party games, it ended up being great fun. We had quizzes on Christmas music, played Bingo, split in teams and dressed up a person as Santa with minimal office products, rolled grapefruit across the floor by hitting it with another grapefruit in pantyhose tied around our waists (yeah, that was as funny as it sounds) and 12 people volunteered to act out the 12 days of Christmas which had us all rolling. It was a great night and definitely a great start to all these parties. And since they’re all incognito, I thought I’d post a picture of all of our Santas.
Sunday Scripture
My scripture this week is Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.
Oh how many times I need to remind myself to guard my heart!
So how about you? To participate, simply post a verse, a set of verses or even just a reference to a verse that means something to you now or maybe even in the past. Explain why it’s important or don’t. It’s up to you. Go now and post and then come back. Post your name and then a direct link to you blog entry. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to leave yours in the comments. Here is the code for the graphic above.

Me, me, me
I want to replace the picture on my site with one of these headshots but can’t decide. If any of you have an opinion, leave a comment and pick. Yes, this is a big waste of time and selfish and vain and retarded that I have 8 pictures of me. But help me pick anyway. I’m looking for something that looks very me. Of course they all look like me because they are me but I mean I want something that in just a flash, someone knows what kind of person writes here.
August Rush Soundtrack
I bought the soundtrack to August Rush today after seeing the movie on Tuesday and have been listening to it while I clean. It is an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack. It opens up as the movie does with the little boy talking and man, that put me right back to the theater and made me want to go see it again!
For those that have seen the movie, you’ll appreciate the songs Louis sang in the club, the solos Evan/August played in the parks, the duet Louis and Evan/August did in the park, August’s Rhapsody and the song from the church with the little girl’s solo. The other songs are good, but those are the ones that stood out to me.
If you haven’t seen the movie, you’ll still appreciate two of my favorite songs from the soundtrack. The first is "This Time" that Jonathan Rhys Meyers sings in the movie and on the soundtrack. I knew I liked it in the theater but I appreciate it even more after reading the lyrics. The other one I think worthy of buying is a 7:49 song called August’s Rhapsody which was the center stage of the movie. It’s really gorgeous.
There are some other familiar songs that were redone including Raise It Up, God Bless the Child and La Bamba.
If you appreciate an acoustic, celtic, gospel, orchestra sound, or even jazz this is definitely a soundtrack you should look into. Buy August Rush: Music From The Motion Picture here.
On a very side note, I just read that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested recently. Oh well, he’s still hot and can sing!
