I think I’m gonna make it

February 25, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

Saturday started out well but ended really badly when my antibiotic made my extremly nauseous.  I had to get MIL to take the girls for the night and take them to church yesterday.  No more Biaxin for me!

Yesterday was sort of an iffy day.  I was able to get up, get ready and have lunch over at IL’s but I was quickly tired and had to go home and nap.  When I got up, I took the kids to choir at church and then we hunkered down at home.  I did fine with the girls by myself last night and was even feeling pretty good watching the Oscars.

This morning I feel almost completely normal.  I woke up and just about jumped out of bed just because I could.  Lexi even got a bow in her hair for school!  That’s progress, people.  I may tire out quickly today but for now I feel like I’m back in the land of the living!

Sunday Scripture – Psalm 121

February 24, 2008 by Amy 1 Comment

1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;  From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from the LORD,  Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip;  He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel  Will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper;  The LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not smite you by day,  Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will protect you from all evil;  He will keep your soul.
8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in  From this time forth and forever.

It was positive

February 23, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

I had a little breakdown last night.  I was so tired of being sick.  My legs hurt, my stomach hurt, I was hungry but absolutely nothing sounded good, my nose wouldn’t quit, my chest hurt, blah, blah, blah.  This morning I’m happy to report I’m feeling so much better.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is I think the flu has now caused some bronchitis.  So I finally broke down and went to the dr today.  She first tested me for the flu which came back positive.  She also figures I have bronchitis since a secondary infection is common with the flu.  So I walked away with antibiotics and she also told me to take Mucinex DM.  She was going to put me on Tamiflu but since I’m already 5 days in, there’s really no point.  I was surprised she even suggested me taking Monday and Tuesday off from work.  If I had to work today though, I could.  But since I don’t, I’m off to take a nap!  I’ve been up and about all day and I think I’ve about had enough.

I’m still here

February 22, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

but still really sick.  Today has shown some improvement.  I have a little more energy today and more of an appetite but I still spent the day in bed.  I honestly don’t think I’ve ever felt this bad for so long.  Everyone keeps telling me it lasts four days and then it’s done so here’s hoping for a great day tomorrow.

I’m alive…barely

February 21, 2008 by Amy 3 Comments

OMG, this is awful.  I stayed in bed all day yesterday and managed to get in a full day’s work but I’ve been taking it easy since then.  I didn’t even work today.  Actually, Scott had to go do a talk for work and I’m alone with the kids for about 2 hours.  I came out here to check on my email and such.  A few random things to note:

  • Scott got his offer for his settlement and it’s AWESOME.  More than we thought.  I see a new truck in our future.
  • My OTH site had right at 18,000 page view yesterday!  It set a new record and I think it’s INSANE.
  • I was unimpressed with the AI girls last night.  I’m not even sure I could pick one that I was impressed by.  I’m personally a fan of Brooke White and she didn’t do half-bad so I’ll give her that.  Syesha was good but she is way too over confident for me.  The Irish girl was good but kinda boring.  In fact, most of last night was bo-ring.  What’s with all the slow songs?

OK, I’m going to go crawl back in bed.

I think it’s the flu

February 20, 2008 by Amy 3 Comments

I’m pretty sure I have the flu.  I fit all the symptoms.  The worst part?  I can’t do anything for it but take OTC medicines.  I just have to suffer through this.  Last night was tough.  I woke up coughing several times.  This morning I was like a zombie.  My head hurt, my fever was back and I just felt crappy all over.  I barely got the kids ready for school.  Poor things didn’t even get their hair brushed this morning.  I took some Tylenol immediately and that helped with the aches and fever.  I decided to go ahead and work today since I don’t really have sick time.  But I’ll be staying home from church tonight.

Top 7 American Idol Guys

February 19, 2008 by Amy 3 Comments

I was tagged by Paula to tell seven things about me.  So I’m going to double-up and tell you my top 7 guys from American Idol tonight (mostly in the right order)

  1. Michael Johns – he’s got the package.  he sings well, he looks good, he’s confident, and he has an accent.  what more do you want?
  2. Jason Castro – i love his honest shock of the good reviews.  i think he’ll just keep getting better and better
  3. David Archuleta – was he not so cute?  he was SO nervous afterwards but you would have never known it while he was singing.
  4. Robbie Carrico
  5. David Cook – i’m sorry but his hairline is annoying me.  just shave it!
  6. David Hernandez
  7. Danny Noriega – his confidence is starting to grate on my nerves

I thought we had missed it…

February 19, 2008 by Amy Leave a Comment

All the sickness, I mean. But no, my lack of energy yesterday is explained by the oncoming sickness today. Starting this morning, I have had general aches, a slight fever, sore throat, cough and headache. I loaded myself up on meds but mostly spent the day on the couch trying to work while my Internet connection went up and down. Mom’s having dinner at her house so we’ll head over there for the evening until it’s time to come home and settle in for AI and OTH.
