OK, last week I was so excited several reps had contacted me directly about info for my One Tree Hill Blog site. Well..let me tell you what happened to.day. The same rep for the movie The List who had given us 5 DVDs to giveaway asked me today if I would be interested in INTERVIEWING HILARIE BURTON about the movie. My response was um…YEAH!!!!
I called Heather and literally screamed on the phone! What in the world am I going to ask her? Yeah, the movie questions are pretty easy..what’s the movie about? What’s your character like? etc but of course I want to know if I can ask questions about One Tree Hill and if I can in fact do that, I’m assuming I only get a couple and what in the world do I ask significant enough in 2 or 3 questions? I’m sure I could talk all night about One Tree Hill, especially with Hilarie but how do I pare it down to a few questions if in fact I can ask any at all? And I know nothing about interviewing anybody about anything! I think I might remember practicing interviewing Abe Lincoln in middle school or something?!
Wow, I’m flabbergasted I was even asked but so excited I might get the chance to do it. She responded and said I’m on “the list” and she’d keep me in the loop. I really hope this pans out because it would be SO COOL!
*freak out done, composing myself*
Amy- Is The List the movie based on a Christian fiction book by a local Charlotte author? I remember reading a book called The List and the author came to our book club to discuss it. That would be pretty cool if it was being made into a movie. I can’t remember the author’s name, though.
Congrats on the interview!!
Jenny O.’s last blog post..In the Homestretch
All I have to say is OMG!!!! Congrats!!
I would prep for the interview by reading as many interviews of her that are already posted on the net…then try to invent questions that have NOT been asked before.
nothing is more boring than a cookie cutter interview that asks the same questions you’ve read about before.
I totally agree with Lynellen…ask her something that is more specific to you, your site. I really know nothing about her or her work other than OTH but I know you do and I bet there is something you and your readers would be interested in that a standard reporter is not going to ask. Play to what your strengths are and you’ll find a great question to ask her! Something offbeat and quirky!
EDW’s last blog post..It’s hard to rely on my good intentions
Thanks for the advice, ladies. I’m thinking of throwing it out to my blog readers and asking them too.
Getting questions from your OTH blog readers is a GREAT idea.
The question I came up with overnight was this:
“As you know, blogs are like journals. Do you write in journal yourself? What do you think of online journals where people share details about thier lives – do you find them interesting or scary? And would your character ever have a personal blog in her world?”
WOW…that’s exciting! She always seems like so much fun in her interviews…I’m sure she will make it easy for you. You’ll have to try to find out if it was Peyton that Lucas called!
Congratulations! I can’t wait to read all about it.
i’m totally on board with lynellen. since on OTH she has her punk & disorderly. that would be a perfect line of questioning.
Heather’s last blog post..Win a FREE DVD of The List
I also think we need to ask her if she reads our site (hehe) and where she thinks we should go/eat when we go to Wilmington.
Heather’s last blog post..Win a FREE DVD of The List
It would be fun to know if she has favorite places to visit in Wilmington! (if she’s willing to share them!)
I just watched an interview with her and someone asked her something similar about places she likes and she mentions a place called Circa.
