I know it’s 1am on Friday and all but I had this post in my mind since I woke up and I don’t feel right going to sleep without posting it.
Appreciating Normal.
That’s what I’m thankful for today. You know those days where you’re sick or something really wrong is going on and you just want normal back? And then you get normal back and you don’t even think of it because, well, you feel normal. Well, today I feel normal and I’m thankful. Nothing hurts, I have no pain, no major issues. Yes, life is busy and I have some frustrations but overall, I’m just…normal. And I’m stopping to say it feels good.
I would never have thought to stop and thank God for “normal” until after Matthew’s surgery. He bounced back so effortlessly that even his doctors were amazed. He spent only two days in hospital and only ended up missing 7 school days. He is still on both physical and hard food restrictions for another couple of weeks but it easy to forget what he went through only a month ago (even the scar on his hip has been healing well).
On the other end of the age spectrum…I have been fighting a nasty case of bronchitis for more than a week now. Even with medication it does not seem to want to leave me. I promise to be thankful for normal again as soon as I can shake this!
