Tonight is going to be date night! We’re going to a fondue place called The Melting Pot. We’ve never been but everyone (except Mom and Dad) rave about it so I hope it’s good. We’re going with two couples from church one of which we don’t get to hang out with as often as we like so I think it’s going to be a fantastic time together. Mom agreed to watch the girls and get them to bed for school in the morning. If you’ve been to this place or one like it, what do you recommend?
We went a couple months ago during Queen’s Feast. Their cheese fondue is AMAZING but don’t eat too much or else you won’t have room for the CHOCOLATE fondue which is heavenly. The middle course, the meat course, is tasty, too. You won’t be disappointed no matter WHAT you pick!

One of my favorite places to eat … just save room for dessert. I could actually skip the broth that cooks the meat for the main dish and just do the cheese and chocolate fondues. I like the turtle chocolate fondue and the Mexican cheese fondue.

We had their spinach artichoke cheese fondue. YUM. And the dessert we had was the Yin/Yang chocolate fondue. Also yum.
As for mixed drinks, if you are so inclined, may I recommend the Turtletini? DELISH.

I love this restaurant. I like the traditional swiss cheese fondue. For the meats, I usually get the sirloin b/c I’m not fond of fish. I prefer my meats to be boiled in oil instead of broth, so we choose the oil method. My favorite salad is the spinich and mushroom one. We rarely have room for dessert after all that. And since dessert is extra anyway, it doesn’t hurt us too much to skip it!

We are going tonight!!! I’m calling you now … maybe we’ll get to see each other! Although I won’t ruin your date night
I’ll see you in an hour! And you HAVE to save room for dessert — it’s the best part!!
