Wow, who knew I could get so many blog posts out of 48 hours in New York. I mean, really. But I just have to tell you about our Sephora trip. First off, Jillian (who is also amazing and talented) used this AMAZING eye liner. It looked great, felt great and even better STAYED IN PLACE for hours! We were asking her throughout the makeup session who made what as I know she must have used 15 different products on my face. But we could not remember who made the eyeliner as we stood in Sephora in Times Square. We looked around and nothing. All we know is it was a short, fat hot pink pencil.
We asked the lady and she literally laughed at us but went off and asked this guy that was working. He said, “Oh, that’s BADgal. It’s at the front of the store.” WOW. Dani, who being much more familiar with Sephora than my Sephora-virgin self, took me straight to the display and found it. Ta-da.
But, wait, it gets better. We really wanted this glitter stuff that was on my eye but were clueless. So we walk back over to him to test him. I close my eye and say, I need to know where to get this stuff. He stares at it and says, “Try Make Up For Ever” And sure enough, there were lots of little pots of glitter right on the bottom row. We weren’t convinced it was exactly the right thing so I didn’t get any and I actually need to check with Jillian to see if that’s what it was. But, by golly, that guy was IMPRESSIVE.
*Now patiently waiting for free product offer for the post.*
*Please*
*$20 for eyeliner is a bit rich for my taste*

Aw, I miss Sephora. Did you go to the Times Square location? That place is always packed. I was fortunate that I had one near my office when I worked in NYC so I didn’t have to go to the TS store.

Yep, the TS one. Have you been to the one in SouthPark? I think that’s where Dani goes all the time. They had them on every other corner in NY.

Hey Amy – It’s Jillian. I’m thrilled to read that you loved the products that I used on you so much!
The eyeliner I used was BADgal, and the glitter is MUFE Diamond Powder (I used White Gold 2 on you that afternoon).
I actually have a blog post about the glitter, which can be found here (http://www.jillianvillafane.com/2008/08/29/i-love-me-some-glitter/) if you’d like any additional info!
Great meeting you on Sunday. Feel free to ask me any makeup questions you have – I’m always happy to help!

Jillian! So glad you visited! You might regret ever offering advice :). I also have the Deep in Love lipstick by Mac on my list but Sephora didn’t carry it.
I was also wondering about the base lipstick you put on and the concealer.
Dani says
Sephora guy gets even more props now that I just read Jilian’s comment that the eye glitter was, in fact, Mufe just like he suggested!!! That is definite talent. I’ll be picking that up at Southpark this weekend.
Jillian says
I believe I used a lipliner in Plum from Bobbi Brown as your lip base – and I also put a MAC gloss on top, but the gloss was limited edition so you definitely won’t be able to find it!
The concealer is from Temptu (the same company that makes the airbrush makeup that I use), however it only comes in a wheel with 5 different shades, so it might not really suit your needs (you’d probably need to blend 2 of the colors but you would never need all 5!)…
Good luck finding everything!

I worked on 45th and Broadway, and I used to go to that Sephora on my lunch breaks! Love it there! Also, I love the one in Soho.
