Christmas went really well this year. Christmas Eve we went to Mom’s house. We had dinner and opened presents. I got new luggage, a headboard for our room, a sweater and some Office paper products :).
Christmas morning we opened presents of course. I really slacked on the Santa thing this year. After Emma opened half her presents and picked out the wrapping paper she wanted, it was really hard to skirt all the questions about how Santa used the wrapping paper, which presents were from Santa and so forth. I wouldn’t be surprised if Emma figures it all out by next year. If not, I might have to sit down and have the convo or maybe pay some kid to blab it all. It’s exhausting keeping up the charades.
Anyway, the kids were happy with most of their presents. Emma was ecstatic about her PixO’s and Lexi got excited over each present, even her pj’s. Although at the end Lexi wondered where the rest of her presents were and Emma did get upset we picked out the Cinderella earrings instead of Hannah Montana. I convinced her the princess ones were better for Disney though.
I bought Scott a LaserJet printer for partly selfish reasons of not hearing about how we needed a LaserJet printer for all the coupon and coloring page things we print. He was happy though and it was better than handing him a Home Depot gift card.
I was excited to go on a little hunt to find my MacBook Scott had secretly bought. I had a hint he might get it but no proof. I think I’ve been attached to it since. I have a lot to learn but it’s fun to have a challenge.
At lunch we went to Scott’s parents and had a nice time. I got some Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy perfume and the suitcase I had bought with my Christmas money. Mom had already bought my other suitcase by the time I bought the one from his parents. We all now have really nice suitcases for our trip! The kids have been over the moon with their Baby Alive Learns to Potty they got there. Oh boy howdy, do I love feeding and changing poopy diapers again 🙂
Yesterday afternoon we went to see Marley & Me. It was really, really good and made me want to bust out in an ugly cry it was so sad at the end. WAY too close to what we went through with Dad’s dog Trooper.
So last night we went to see his parents one more time before heading out of town this morning. The rest of the evening was spent packing and figuring out this new computer (which I’m typing this from!).
So that’s it! We still have all of our Christmas to do this weekend but I think that’s a post on its own.
I used iMovie to edit a few of my favorite moments from yesterday into a movie. Please forgive me in my robe and horrible hair but you had to see the MacBook Moment. The end is hilarious as my mom tries to figure out how to play soccer on our Wii. First she tries to use her head and then when we tell her to use her knees, it just gets funnier.
