Can I just say there is a lot of hate on the Internet? Like, a lot. I realize hate is in the real world too but something about the Internet gives people the permission to hide behind their monitor and be downright nasty about things they don’t even know about. Running several sites and having to monitor comments, I have to get my “mommy voice” on but I honestly do not try to be ugly to people. But wow, people know how to nitpick any small thing and blow it up to something huge and then spew it all over the Internet. It’s a shame really.

Yes mainly. But OTH too.

Sometimes when I am in the comments section of the OTH site I have to remind myself that these are not my children and it is not my place to reprimand them for some of the language. As I have said to you before, I often feel every minute of my age and want to ask whether they would be happy having their parents read their words. I honestly think you do a fantastic job of letting everyone say what they think, but you are absolutely right about quickly it can get out of control. It is very much like Lindsay’s comment to Mia about the internet being for “porn and complaining” or Haley’s “critism vs. creation. Keep smiling…you are doing a fantastic job!

I second what Carolyn said, you are doing an amazing job!
I think with the OTH site you have alot of younger girls, its not a bad thing, they just haven’t learned the whole filter thing. Think first, speak (or type) second.
OTH fans are very passionate about their couples, story-lines, etc. And you’re right, it is easier to talk smack to a computer monitor not a person’s face.
Keep up the good work!

I’m sorry you’re seeing the hate! Because I have such a small internet presence and post on so few sites, I don’t see a lot of it. I love that people are passionate about things, even if those things are entertainment related, but I do wish they’d keep perspective next to passion.
