My heart is so full. The past two weeks of church have been almost overwhelming. It’s to the point I’m writing things down just trying to make sense of it. I feel like God is weaving together some sort of message to me. I have a grasp on the threads but not quite the tapestry. But there is one thing I know to tell you.
He loves you
He loves you
He loves you
He loves you

Your post reminds me of a story the kids heard at camp…at the banquet on the last evening Pastor Rick sat all the kids down and told them about a young boy who lived with an alcoholic mother and a step-father who tried to slit the boy’s throat. At first I wondered where he was going with the story until I realized it was his own. He told them about jumping on the Sunday School bus with a friend only to cause trouble and his surprise when the Sunday School teacher invited him back the next week. He said on the third week the Sunday School teacher told him something that he had trouble believing because he felt so alone; the teacher told him, “God loves you”. He said that the teacher was so certain that God loved him even after all the trouble he’d been in that he went home and prayed for the first time in his life. He told the kids that his conversation with God didn’t end with a lightening bolt or burning bush moment so he wasn’t sure if God heard him. Over the next few weeks he realized he wasn’t getting into fights as school and that he wasn’t feeling scared anymore. He finally felt loved and followed through on his promise to tell his story to as many people as possible. The kids were atunned when they found out he had been talking about himself.
This is one of the songs the kids sang that night.

Wow, Carolyn, I can only imagine how powerful that was.
