The winner is Claire! Congrats, Claire!
I haven’t yet done a full review on The Help but it is by far my favorite novel of the year. The storyline was unique, the characters and setting were rich, the dialogue brilliant. I am a little more than ecstatic that we are going to a screening of the movie next Monday. It’s actually our 13th wedding anniversary and I signed us RIGHT UP for the tickets when I got the email because I just know it’s going to be a fantastic way to spend the evening.
Today I have an awesome opportunity to give Y”ALL some good stuff! Here’s what’s included:
– THE HELP t-shirt in adult female sizes of S, M, L, XL
– THE HELP pocket jotter & pen
– THE HELP fan
– THE HELP nail file/mirror
If you’d like to win this, just leave a comment telling me your favorite character of the book. Or if you haven’t seen it, your favorite Southern dish. I’ll be closing the giveaway next Wednesday. If you haven’t seen a trailer yet, check it out below.

It’s really hard for me to choose a favorite, because they are all such rich characters! If I had to choose, I guess I’d pick Minny. She really is something else! I was so excited when I heard that a movie would be made and I cannot wait to see it.

I haven’t read the book yet but with all the movie previews & the post I keep reading on Facebook and blogs, I think its time I go to the 1/2 price book store to buy it. I don’t like watching a movie before I read the book & I definitely want to see the movie. It’s hard to pick a favorite Southern dish, I have to many I guess, I will go with my Dad’s fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans and fresh biscuits. Sweet tea to drink please 🙂 These are really cute prizes!

Minny, hands down. I listened to the audiobook, which was excellently done, and Minny regularly had me laughing out loud in my car.

Oh my gosh…I keep seeing the trailer and this movie looks like one I would actually go to. We don’t go to movies very much but this sounds like one chick flick that my hubby is taking me on a date night.
So I haven’t seen it yet but can tell you that I love the look on the uppity woman who cant believe there is something in the book about her.
I am not southern and really don’t make southern food….but I can tell you I love me some grits and gravy every now and then.

I loved this book and I’m so excited the movie is coming out. My favorite character was probably Skeeter. I just enjoyed her spirit and how she didn’t conform.

My favorite character is Aibiline, I love a woman was has dignity in indignant circumstances. I also love the idea that ultimate courage can be manifest quietly and without drawing attention to itself. Thirdly, I love a woman’s heart that can fully and sacrificially love a child. Even when the child is part of something ugly and destined to turn away from her. There is just so much patience and hope in that.
My second favorite character is Moe Mabley – she is so loyal and smart. I laughed and cried when she was playing lunch counter with her baby brother and boldly lied to her father to protect the woman who loved her.
