Today you get to see the intro video from the site! Our uber-talented media guy at church was super gracious and filmed and edited the video for a mere pack of Dr. Pepper and chocolate chip cookies. Not kidding. I still feel a little guilty about that one. Sure enough, though, I went over to the church during my lunch hour a few weeks ago and within 15 minutes, we had 3 or 4 takes.
The video plays on the front page of Entangled’s (yet-to-be-released) web site. I know the video is a little on the serious side. All the experts say your eBook video should be smiley and enthusiastic. And I AM enthusiastic about the message of the book but talking about it is just heavy for me. And honestly, things come across with WAY LESS enthusiasm on video than you think it is in your head. I also debated on the script but God just kept pushing me towards saying what I did.
And lastly, on a superficial note that really has nothing to do with the book, I had some people say the all-black thing going on was bad and others said they like it. All I can say is I needed a hair cut 🙂
At this point I really wish I still had that journal my mom got me. I’d be a good blogger and scan and post where I wrote I’d write a book one day. But honestly this isn’t about me and a book. It’s about His faithfulness and His grace and His love. I promise no matter what situation you are in that you can read this book. Reading this book isn’t an admission on your part to an affair or bad marriage. There’s a message in it for everyone and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.

FANTASTIC! so proud of you Amy. What you did (telling your story) takes A LOT of guts and LOTS of faith and trust in God. Way to go!

Thank you, Carmen!

I love the video. Love the black, love the hair (you’ve always had the best hair anyway!) The message is honest. You can see how much it affects you, even by the way you blush after you say the words “emotional affair” for the first time. The emotions are clear and that makes the video effective and just right.
Amy says
Did I blush? Typical 🙂

Amy,
Dad and I are so proud of you and Scott for sharing something so personal and devastating to show how God can take something bad and turn it into something good if you will only let him! I believe this book is going to help so many people because there is so much more to it than just surviving an emotional affair. Love you, Mom
I’d still like to know where you and your sister got those writing skills! I sure wish I had some!
Amy says
Aw, thanks 🙂 Love you guys!
