How about a few random things?
1 – Our puppy Tucker has made it to 1 year and 1 day. Possibilities were sketchy at times. Sadly, many, many, many things were destroyed in the process. A blue tooth, Nine West shoes, more markers, pencils and pens than I can count, a pool skimmer, grill brush, pool lights…oh I could go on. Scott tells me it’s worth it. Possibilities are sketchy.
2 – Both Emma and Lexi are now riding their bikes. We did not totally fail as parents. We actually went on a family bike ride the other night and it was a pretty darn good feeling.
3 –This has no story except to say Emma was the one taking the picture. I found this in my camera and this is why I’m scared of her being a teenager and thought you should be warned of my impending meltdown. Those eyes cut through any fuzziness of the picture. They are LOUD and CLEAR.
4 – I also need to confess I made cupcakes although I know how bad all the sugar is. They’re from the King Arthur Gluten-free cake mix with my mom’s icing recipe. They were divine. If you couldn’t tell by Lexi’s face.
5 – On a serious random note, please pray for my family. My grandfather is very sick in ICU with pancreatitis. My father-in-law has diverticulitis and is having surgery today and will be in the hospital for the next week. Praying for peace for the family, healing for them and wisdom for the doctors. Thank you.
And if you’re feeling chatty, tell me the worst thing a puppy ever destroyed at your house.

That’s awesome about having family bike rides! What great memories you are creating!
That cupcake looks great! Lexi’s face is priceless.
I’m definitely praying for your grandfather and your father-in-law! I’m praying for healing and peace for them and your family.
Amy says
Thanks for praying, Becky.
Heather W. says
Oh no, she’s taking fish face pictures already?!

Count us among those saying a prayer for your family and for the hospital staff handling your Grandfather and Father-in-Law’s cases. Sending lots of love and good thoughts to all of you.
We do not have a dog but our bunny Freckles chewed through a powercord for one of the kid’s DVD players. My sister’s lab chewed the baseboard in her hallway and scratched one of their front doors so badly both had to be replaced. Hang in there, Tucker will eventually grow out of the chewing phase…I hope. 😉
I love that picture of Lexi! Leila is a little closer to her teen years and has already perfected the eye-roll and bonus, “Fiiiine”. My personal favourite is, “I know, d’uh” which is quickly followed by a retraction when she catches my “Serious Mom Face”. Good luck!

Yikes! I’ve heard of dogs eating the actual house before. Tucker thankfully has not done that but yesterday I did see him eating the bark of a tree right off of it??
“I know, duh” They do that too but not often. I’m sure I’ll hear it more. I love you just put “Good luck” at the end. Made me giggle.
Jen says
your girls are adorable, the cupcakes look delish and i will pray for everyone during this stressfull time!
Amy says
Thank you on all accounts, Jen!

I had almost forgotten y’all had a pup! He’s such a cutie. Now that the girls are both riding their bikes, the next trick to learn is biking with Tucker on his leash.
I’m so sorry to hear about your Grandfather & Father-in-law. Happily praying God’s healing for them both as well as comfort & peace to your family. Keep us updated please!

Tucker is a wild man when we got on our bikes. I think Scott has clocked him at 17mph or something crazy. Great way to exercise though he stays right with us!
