Today’s the day I share my outfits from the week with The Pleated Poppy’s What I Wore Wednesday. I pair my outfits with inspirational photos. Read more about that here.
I feel like I should say, Ahoy, matey! with this outfit on but seriously, so bright outside.

This day was a no-good rainy day so my rain boots were in order. The rest? I liked the idea of blue, mustard and red together inspired by this duck I pinned but for me, this outfit wasn’t hitting on a whole lot on its own. The duck is pretty amazing though, yes?

I wish you could see the gray sequined shirt and snakeskin flats a little better in this picture. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to take these pictures. Tips?

In case you missed my stellar day recap, this was my casual laser tag-bowling outfit. T-shirt, jeans and chucks are still my favorite some days.

Apologies for all the wrinkles and flash on this work outfit. I sat in EIGHT hours of meetings and then drove home 45 minutes before taking this picture. *sigh*

I know I’ve said it before, but I LOVE these posts AND you have actually inspired me to be less boring in my clothing selections. 🙂 I don’t know how long it takes you to do this, but I love it. Do you chose the inspirations before or after choosing the outfits?

I’m so glad you like these, Katrina. So excited that it’s inspiring you as well.
I take the picture daily which just takes a minute or two and then try to pick and edit which picture I’ll use. Sometimes I’ll take the time each day to find a picture on Pinterest to use but other times I wait. I was slack this week and did everything on Tuesday night and it took about an hour and a half–all fun though. The time flies by.
Some of the outfits I put together without a thought to a picture and then others, I can remember pinning a picture and use the color combinations as inspiration. It’s weird, but I have an easier time finding a Pinterest picture after the fact versus trying to come up with an outfit from a photo. It actually makes sense because before all of this, I really enjoyed fashion because it did remind me, once put together, of things in nature. I think it’s just a natural outflow of what I was already doing in my head.
Sometimes though when I’m having a hard time finding a matching picture, I’ll ask God to bring to mind what it reminds him of and he does!
