Loonng iPhone Cord
Shelley from TheHouseofSmiths posted about this cord from MiniInTheBox a few months ago. I finally remembered to get one this month and man, oh, man. What a difference it makes.
I plug my cord in behind my bed. With the old cord, I’d have to lay on my side at the edge of my bed to read my phone. Now, Scott can read it plugged in on the other side of our King-sized bed if he needs to. It’s pretty great. And wow, I’m entirely spoiled. The good news is these only cost $2.99.
iPad
I know, I know, I’m like 3 years late. I always said I didn’t see a need for an iPad but my faithful Kindle finally died this month. I was set to replace it with another basic Kindle but after checking Craigslist, I found a pretty sweet deal on a used iPad 2 and couldn’t resist. Apparently some parent was having a “teachable moment” with her son. Poor kid.
So far I like how the screen is lit so I can read in bed after Scott’s asleep. I’ll be interested to see how much I like it compared to my Kindle when I’m reading outside more in the Summer.
I also really like the Evernote app a lot better than my iPhone since the keyboard is so much larger.
And of course, the kids love it.
Snuggle Fabric Softener
Man, I know this is old school stuff here but I branched out (not far, clearly) to try a different fabric softener and wow, what a difference. Seriously, the entire family is going around sniffing their own clothes.
Almonds
In January, I posted about the Smokehouse Almonds I’d found that I like. Turns out I like the several of the other flavors. Last time they were on sale, I picked up Smokehouse, Bold Jalapeno Smokehouse, Bold Honey Dijon and Toasted Coconut and they’re all yummy. I eat a handful almost every morning for snack.
Hazelnut Macchiato
Starbucks is offering a new Hazelnut macchiato and I think it’s perfect when you don’t want plain coffee but white mocha is just too sweet. Which, in my case lately is just about anytime.
Candle
I tried this scented candle (Boticario de Havana) from Archipelago from the 31 Days to a Heart of Hospitality ebook from LifeinGraceBlog.com and I love it so much. It’s rich and smoky and is perfect for our bedroom. Wait for a sale to pick this up though. It’s kind of pricey for the size. This would also be a great idea for Mother’s Day coming up for yourself.

I had no idea that long iPhone cords existed! This would make my life so much easier in bed too!

I didn’t either but they are oh so wonderful!

So glad to finally hear you’ve joined the snuggle bandwagon! Once you’ve smelled you can’t go back to off brand fabric softener again.
Amy says
Dani, I thought you said you used another brand?? I’ve been using whatever that was…can’t even remember it now and thought I was trying something new with snuggles. Figures. No wonder we like it so much. I was always disappointed that our clothes never did smell like yours. Ha!

They are great when you want something sweeter. I think the honey dijon is my favorite mix of sweet and salty.

I ordered that iPhone cord after seeing it here. I cannot believe it’s only $2.99 — and free shipping.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Have you ever tried those cocoa almonds? Not chocolate covered, but sort of chocolate-dusted. They are AMAZING. I love your list for this month!

As much as I love chocolate I’ve never love the cocoa almonds. I might have to give it another whirl though!
Cara says
Well, aren’t you fun?! Toasted coconut anything sounds absolutely delightful!

Thanks for stopping by, Cara! I’m not usually a coconut fan but these were really good.

We’ve been into Starbuck’s Passion Tea Lemonade. It’s a nice alternative for when you don’t want coffee. I wish they would do the peppermint latté all year instead of just at Christmas time. It’s my favourite!
I’m a Downy Fabric Softener girl. There is just something about that smell that reminds me of being young.
I love almonds but not coconut so I definitely wouldn’t like those ones but the jalepeno ones sound tasty. We all like pistachios (plain not the red ones) and find that they don’t last too long in the house!
Leila, who loves adding colour to her hair (right now she has blue and silver highlights) has been looking at different full-colour hair styles. I haven’t let her dye her whole head but that doesn’t mean she won’t keep trying. She is partial to purple but is considering pink (punk rock pink, not Nicky Minaj pink – her words). Her school’s uniform policy is helping me right now as students are not allowed to have hair that is not a colour outside what you would normally find. She would be allowed to dye her brown hair blonde, red or black but purple would be frowned upon. She has a full section on her i-Pod dedicated to photos she has found on Instagram.

I keep getting coupons about the tea lemonade. I’m not a huge fan of lemony tea but I might give it a go.
I hate coconut itself but like the flavor of coconut so these are ok with me. Go figure.
Emma has a streak in her hair now. Just a clip-in 🙂 I bet Leila looks pretty with the blue and I think pink would look great against her dark hair!

Love your finds this month – the iphone cord looks like something I need to pick up. Also loving podcasts lately – and one of my favorite is Home Fries. I’ll have to try the hazelnut mocchiato – my husband just saw that ad in an airport the other day, and wanted to try it. (I do like the sweet coffee drinks though – think it’ll be sweet enough for a coffee drinker who can’t stand black coffee?)
Enjoying your blog 🙂
