I can’t just share bad news about potty training. It looks as if Emma is back on track with the potty training. She’s gone in the potty twice today. Thank the Lord.

Daddy Talk
I have a whole page of Mommy talk but I just heard Scott in there saying very sternly…
“Emma you don’t use your shirt sleeve to wipe up hot chocolate on the table!”
Should I mention she’s wearing a plain white turtleneck today?
I’m starting to feel bad for Lexi’s husband
This is how they fell asleep last night
Potty Training is a Magic Trick – Warning lots of potty talk
Yes, I’m beginning to believe potty training is a magic trick, an illusion of the mind where it appears to work for everyone else and yet when I try said illusioin at my house, it is nothing but a failure, full of dirty panties, wet beds, too many wipes, stressed kids and a disappointed and almost angry mother.
Potty training went so well a few months ago. Emma finally had given up going #2 and was completely trained while Lexi quickly caught on to peeing in the potty yet found that pooping in the same place was unacceptable and continued to do so in her panties. Fine. I could clean panties if that’s the only thing I had to do.
But now, Emma has wet the bed two nights in the past week and has suddenly went #2 in her panties again. I know it was partly my fault for getting lax on her um, laxative but still. If the girl has to go, she’s old enough to make it to the potty.
So between cleaning Lexi’s panties and Emma’s several times a day and then Emma wetting the bed last night again at 2:30 and causing me to sleep on the couch for most of the night because they were all sent to my bed with Scott, I’m not a happy camper about this whole potty training thing.
My Day and Kids Story
As my mother pointed out, I missed a day posting yesterday. Looks like since giving her the site last year, she’s finally taken to it (hey, mom!).
So Sunday could be summed up as church and CVS. I got a really good deal at CVS which I’ll post about next.
Today is just the norm. Working, kids back and forth to school, etc. And since this is really turning out to be a boring post and the reason I didn’t post yesterday, I’ll tell you a conversation Emma and Lexi had the other night in bed that had me laughing listening to them…
Lexi was crying because she didn’t want to be in bed. Emma has a habit of doing something really silly so Lexi will laugh and quit crying. I heard Emma doing just that and Lexi was cackling. Emma I guess finally got tired of it and wanted to go to sleep and she said, “Lexi! OK, I made you laugh now quit. ” Lexi I guess kept laughing and then Emma said, “I’m serious, Lexi, it’s time to go to sleep.”
No School Snow Day
It snowed through the night last night and unfortunately it has been raining on and off all day so the girls have not gone outside. Since local schools were on a two hour delay, preschool was canceled so the girls spent the morning at home. They have been doing great and playing hard. And I have proof.
Every room pretty much looks like these:
And proof of the snow:

Another story about the words coming out of my children’s mouths…
We were joking around tonight and throwing out some Spanish things for the kids to say. They were only doing is taking turns saying “Hola” and we kept trying to get them to say other things. I tried to get Emma to say “Mi llama Emma.” (I have no idea if that’s the right way to say it) She refused so I looked at Lexi and said, “Lexi, say ‘mi llama Lexi’.” Lexi saying very proudly, “Emma Lexi.” I think we’ll have to try the whole Spanish thing again later.
